SEWING TECHNIQUES I: Basic

Students master the proper execution of 20 basic,
fine dress-making techniques. Students must bring
their personal sewing machines.

This class is a continuation of Sewing Techniques
I in which students master the proper execution
of a second set of 20 intermediate, fine dress-making
techniques. Students must bring their personal sewing
machine.
Prerequisite: Sewing Techniques I.

This class is a continuation of Sewing Techniques
II in which students master the proper execution
of a third set of 20 advanced, fine dress-making
techniques. Students must bring their personal sewing
machine.
MAXIMUM ENROLLMENT: 8 students per section.

SEWING TECHNIQUES IV: Tailoring
1 Thursday (AM or PM), 1 Friday (AM or PM), and 1 Saturday 10:00AM-4:00PM
Duration: 3 consecutive days
In this advanced class students master the sewing techniques employed in tailored
garment construction such as notch collar, welt pocket, two-piece set-in sleeve.
Students must bring their personal sewing machine.
Prerequisite: Sewing I, II, III; Construction I, II, III.

TECHNIQUES V: Knits
1 Saturday: 10:00AM-4:00PM
Duration: 1 day
Students master the techniques necessary to sew knit fabrics. Students construct
a simple knit garment. Students must bring their personal sewing machine.
Prerequisite: Pattern Drafting II; Sewing Techniques I and II.

TECHNIQUES III: Advanced, Shirt

of the pant. Students must bring their personal

CONSTRUCTION TECHNIQUES IV: Advanced, Black Dress
1 Thursday (AM or PM), 1 Friday (AM or PM), and 1 Saturday 10:00AM-4:00PM
Duration: 3 consecutive days
Students cut and sew in real woven fabric a basic black presentation dress
which they have designed and drafted from their personal pattern sloper. Students
must bring their personal sewing machine and supply fabric and findings subject
to instructor approval.
Prerequisite: Pattern Making I, II, II; Personal Pattern Sloper I; Sewing
I, II, III; Construction I, II, III.

CONSTRUCTION TECHNIQUES V: Advanced, Corset Making*
Section 1: 9:00-11:30AM

Duration: 4 weeks
Students will cut out and construct the basic boned corset foundation garment
learning appropriate sewing and construction techniques and proper fitting.
Course results in the student's own personal wearable garment. Students must
register for and be measured one quarter in advance of enrollment. Students
must bring their personal sewing machine.
Prerequisite: Sewing I, II, III.
